![]() I still own it gave it to my daughter after I purchased my dream car about 5 months ago. That car has over 200,000 miles and still runs like a champ. I put some mods here and there and it was an awesome car to drive. I hope to own one some day but I had to wait to buy used so I can afford it. Then the IS 300 came out and I said OMG that is one sexy looking Lexus. Man I thought this car was fast and it really was a fun car to drive. I remember my 1991 Talon TSI DOHC AWD back in 1996 I purchased used for $12,000. If your talking a car dedicated to racing, sometimes new is defiantly not better unless you are a millionaire Lambo joe Just a trading of perspectives thats all. Building up a talon to run low 10's is about 10 grand. Curently at around 100K give or take a new gtr absolutely struggles to get out of the 10's and stock it won't do it on the street. ![]() When going into full drag mode the eclipses and talons are VERY difficult to beat on the street. However with that comes a hefty price tag. I really like the gtr, but it is a different platform that is a jack of all trades master of most in a sense. Also the cars ability to hook on the street is purely amazing considering it's one of the few bargain bin platforms that can lay absolute waste to most other new cars from a dig. The statement I made about the Dsm being a cheaper plarform is common sense. There are plenty of topics on this forum of people trying to get the best bang for the buck going full bolton E-85. I get what your trying to say however some people have limitless funds for this game, however the majority of people don't. There are valid points on both sides, however for your average person 100 grand plus for a car is a bit much. I dont know of any 200k dollar POS's that you are claiming to know of. they dont sit in the driveway as you imagine, hence why you dont see Lambos being sold with blown motors. You dont need to sell your DSM as better than it is as a lot of GTR owners have owned Evos and Eclipses and some still do.Īlso, people that blow the motors on their exotic cars pay to get them repaired. Thats fine and dandy on the DSM forums but here its insulting to me and others.īe honest in the descriptions and if you dont know the mods then say you dont know. The OP is clearly selling us the the "lowly DSM" was able to take down the mighty "godzilla" The classic David vs Goliath story. That GTR is a dog, run against a purpose built drag car. Its says they run similar times but the result doesnt show anything close to that. It says its on e85 yet the shots of the engine compartment show no e85 flex fuel kit. The title describes the DSM as built, daily driven, stock gears and talks it up but doesnt mention that the GTR is also probably daily driven (at least as much as the DSM here)and on stock gears. Let me explain why this bothered me so maybe you will understand ( if you even care) Bragging about it speaks to the type of person you are. Posting videos of GTRs getting beat on a GTR forum is simply trolling. You will find that as you acquire wealth, your outlook on things will change and you will understand (kind of like you thought your 1st car was fast UNTIL you bought your current car). Watch this space.Money only has everything to do with it for people that dont have money.(If that makes sense to you). More screenshots will be uploaded once I get back. I'm going away for the weekend, but before I do, I'm leaving another teaser for you guys. I probably won't release this skin mod until Andreas completes the Alfa Romeo. ![]() He's really won a lot of fans with it, and I have a lot of respect for him and his work. It must be said that this project wouldn't have been made possible without Andreas' fantastic Super Touring '98 mod. I have almost completed the entire field (except the Alfas of course). The screenshot of Aiello's Peugeot in the other thread was simply a teaser, just the tip of the iceberg. However, I've really tried to take my time with each car, to make each livery as accurate and realistic as possible for you guys. Although I made the Mark Lemmer Vectra skin for the BTCC '98 mod, I don't usually skin cars. I've really found the incentive to do skins for a championship that I, as well as many others, loved back in the day. As some you may know, I've been doing STW skins, and am currently in the process of skinning every car from the 1997 field. Coming soon to GTR Evolution.the 1997 ADAC Super Tourenwagen Cup!
